Day 2 and I’m feeling pretty good. The only downsides are that 1) I’m still very tired (this no caffeine at night is probably the hardest aspect for me right now…last night I had to resort to chewing gum — sugar free, but I’m sure not great in ingredients! — I’m also not sleeping the greatest during the day and not long enough either so that is something to work on…), 2) I feel like I’m coming down with another cold — I REALLY hope this is not the case…I’m fortifying myself with cold medicine, Vit C and as much rest as I can give my body while working.
12 am — 1/4 cup brown rice for a bit of energy before rounds
3:45 am — the remaining 3/4 cup of brown rice, 1/4 cup cashews, an apple
5:30 am — 1/4 cup cashews (I was feeling tired here and just snacky, not really hungry)
6:30 am — 1/4 cup almonds
Ride home — apple
Before bed — spoonful of almond butter
Dinner — chili, spoonful of almond butter
Snack — I’ll do the same as last night….popcorn popped in olive oil with a sprinkling of salt, blueberry green tea
A few notes….still not sure how I feel about the almond butter (it’s not the taste, it’s the mouth feel…kind of gritty/pasty aftertaste?? … strange since I absolutely LOVE almonds!), the blueberry green tea was actually pretty good…I didn’t hate it 🙂 (it definitely had a strong blueberry taste which I liked a lot), the popcorn popped in olive oil with salt was REALLY good (I thought for sure I would miss the butter on top…but nope…it was that good!)
I made a smoothie to take in for work tonight…got to have a taste of it because it overflowed the cup (banana, strawberry, soy milk, spinach…very tasty…very smooth).
I’m into the shower and then show time. Only one more day of work before two off!! ONE DAY AT A TIME.
