Keeping in touch…

Saturday, October 12, 2013

I feel SO happy…I’ve actually kept in touch with my dear friend from high school for two weeks in a row!

This is a big thing…every time I go home to visit we see each other, talk as if we haven’t had years in between seeing each other, then promise to faithfully stay in touch…and then somehow life gets in the way and we both don’t follow through.

But…this time it’s working so far and it’s giving me the biggest smile πŸ™‚

  1. True friends are hard to find. It is interesting to me that the quicker and more advanced technology becomes the harder it is to stay in touch with people; and I mean the kind if in touch where you do more than like a Facebook photo! But you’re right it’s so rewarding to have contact with friends. I actually miss the days of chatting on the phone or hanging out with friends. I truly think the more “connected” we become the less in touch we really are with others. There is something very special about a friend you can pick up with as though no time has passed at all.

    • Aimee…I feel very similar. As much as I love my iPhone, sometimes I just hate it, you know what I mean? Everyone is always checking in on everyone else, posting stuff, and kind of ignoring the loved ones right in front of them. It’s sad. I wish I had a few more close friends…it’s so much harder as you get older to find a kindred spirit πŸ™‚ It has been so nice seeing you at work…once I’m off orientation I will be able to chat a bit more!
