Cream butter and sugar.

Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition.

Add vanilla and beat well.

In separate bowl, stir together dry ingredients.  Add to wet ingredients, beat well.

Add in milk, beat well.

Pour into 12 muffin cups, bake 18-22 minutes, until lightly golden on sides/spring back when lightly pressed/no crumbs when tested with toothpick.

Cool for a few minutes in pan, then on cooling rack.

Frost with vanilla frosting when thoroughly cool.

Vanilla Frosting

2 and 1/2 to 3 cups of powdered sugar

5 Tbsps softened butter

2 tsps pure vanilla extract

1 to 3 Tbsps milk

To make:

Cream butter.

Add vanilla and mix.

Add 1/2 cup of powdered sugar and 1/2 Tbsp milk at a time, mix well.  When get to 2 and 1/2 cups added of powdered sugar, taste and if to your preference, stop!  If not sweet enough, add last 1/2 cup of sugar, add enough milk to make frosting to your preference of consistency.

Truly, my mouth is watering just looking at this photo again 🙂
