Jack and Jill

Wow today just flew by.

Slept in, even though I woke up feeling more tired than ever…the bedroom was quite warm as we could not open the window due to rain…lots of tossing and turning.

Grocery shopping, lunch, and our finance meeting took up the remainder of the day.

And then it was already time to get ready for the Jack and Jill we were attending.

Now, I haven’t been to a lot of Jack and Jills but STILL…I truly find them outrageous.  I understand that they are intended to earn money for the engaged couple, but I think the prices of this one were a little out of control…$40 just to get in the door (for a couple), then if you wanted to buy any raffle tickets that was extra (two colors…green for big-ticket items 5/$10, and pink for smaller items, 10/$10–we didn’t buy any…the prizes were nothing we wanted) and the drinks were expensive as well ($6 for a small plastic cup of wine!!).  Thankfully we were seated at a table with some friendly people so we were entertained!  The meal was pretty good (I was very nervous there would not be any vegetarian options)–we had salad, rolls with butter, baked ziti, and pasta and potato salad…cake for dessert.  It was nice to get out, but once they started to do the raffle drawing it became a little boring.

Needless to say, it was SO NICE to get home 🙂

I guess I’m a homebody after all!
