Curtains, Cats, and Cinnamon Rolls

We finally got new curtains for the living room!

Before: TEAL

(please excuse the incredibly DARK pictures and the mess!…)

After: BEIGE

Even though it is difficult to tell from these pictures, the curtains really do brighten up the room!  The good news…we were able to save quite a bit of money in purchasing them, because we had three 20% off coupons for Bed Bath and Beyond and one $5 off coupon…the bad news…they were STILL really expensive…I guess when you start with $40/panel that’s understandable.  These are the Energy Saver curtains…supposed to keep the room warmer in winter, cooler in summer…we shall see.  So, we still need to purchase two more panels for the long window…just barely closes together AND we need to iron them.  Baby steps, baby steps…

While we were in line at BBB I noticed this cutie pie…

A cute cat ring holder…perfect for when I take my ring off and knead dough!

Speaking of kneading dough, I crossed another item off my bucket list…I made homemade cinnamon rolls last night!  Fairly easy too…I just used my bread recipe and instead of making a loaf of bread, rolled out the dough, spread on 4 Tbsps softened butter, sprinkled on a layer of brown sugar and then sprinkled with cinnamon…rolled it up, cut it into rolls, let it rise the second time, then baked for 30 mins at 350, same as the bread…covered in this decadent frosting when they came out (2 cups powdered sugar, 5 Tbsps softened butter, 2 Tbsp milk, 1 tsp vanilla).

Had to try one last night…mmmmm!!
