Re-financed!

Monday, March 25, 2013

Well, the long-awaited day has come and gone…we have re-financed the house 🙂

New interest rate = 3.5%

Amount saving each month in mortgage payments = ~$250

Just like last time, we had to call to find out what the closing costs were going to be specifically because we hadn’t been called one and 1/2 hours prior to closing.  They really like to cut things close.  Good news was that they were less than we originally thought (of course the number they gave us was actually MORE than what we were quoted, but at the time we didn’t realize that we didn’t have to make a mortgage payment now this month…nothing until May 1st!)  So the amount we initially thought was outrageous was actually really low…all in all we saved about $300 on just the closing costs and about $600 on our mortgage payment!

Of course it called for a mini-celebration…grinders and ice cream!

Too bad I couldn’t celebrate all night long, but the hospital calls my name.   Unfortunately I slept horrible last night so I have a feeling this is going to be a very long night…especially because I have to go to ACE day in the morning (mandatory hospital training).  I’m already looking forward to climbing into bed tomorrow morning!
