First big chunk of the tax money spent

Today was a busy, busy day for me.

It all started with a new, earlier, wake-up time…7:30 to be precise.  Kimm and I are trying to get up earlier, so we can feel like we have more time to get things done and today was our first day.  Unfortunately I was actually up WAY earlier (like 6:45 am!) as Izzy had woken up earlier and given a good shake (so her collar make a racket).  So I mostly just lied in bed until 7:30 am feeling tired.  Turns out Izzy had to GO…as soon as she got outside, she did her business.

But before going downstairs it was weigh-in day.  Not much to say there except it was a disappointment.  Not a huge gain by any means, but not a loss and that always feels like a let-down, especially when you feel like you are hungry and holding back on portions.  But, we just keep on keeping on and hope for a  loss the next time.

While eating breakfast I did a quick read of blogs.  Not too much time to linger as I had plans to go grocery shopping in the morning…so after a quick stair workout (of which I have increased to 12, up from 10), I hopped in the shower and got going.

I was back by 11:30 am with a bounty of fresh food…I just LOVE having a full fridge and pantry of food after shopping 🙂

Before eating lunch, I made some Tortellini Soup to simmer for dinner tonight.  Lunch was a small baked potato and a big salad…yumm!

After lunch we were out and about again…had to pick up treats for Izzy and then to The Dollar Store and Target.  We started getting items for the Easter baskets at The Dollar Store and looked at glasses while we were at Target.  We knew we wanted to get glasses as our prescriptions were almost a year old and about to expire.  We both found frames we liked and there was a great sale going on…50% off lenses and with any purchase a pair of prescription sunglasses for $89 complete!  So we both got a pair of eyeglasses AND a pair of sunglasses.  Because we have the Target RED card we also got another 5% discount.  SWEET!  Made spending a large amount of money a little bit easier to swallow.

We were home by 5:30 pm and so glad to be able to just heat up our soup and eat it with bread and butter.  It was so tasty!  Fresh strawberries with a little sugar for dessert!  After being out and about all afternoon we both took a little after-dinner nap 🙂

We ended the night with a movie and some popcorn…a pretty good day I would say!
