My first Pinterest-inspired project was a success!

Inspiration:

Valentine's Bunting

I LOVED the inherent simplicity of this project…of course it turned out to be a lot more time consuming than I originally anticipated, BUT that’s okay since I LOVE the final result 🙂

The inspired project used pages from a book for the bunting, and buttons to accent scrap paper hearts. I was going to also use pages from a book for the bunting, but then I started thinking how I wanted the bunting to be more personalized and therefore decided I would make my own bunting background, by typing out words to five different love songs.  I ended up choosing: “Power of Two” by the Indigo Girls, “All I Want Is You” by Barry Louis Polisar, “You’re Still The One” by Shania Twain, “Eternal Flame” by The Bangles, and “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing” by Aeorsmith.  For each song, I typed out the lyrics completely with only a space between each word, then filled them on the the entire page.  I decided on the size of the bunting by using a small sized book.

As far as the hearts, I didn’t want to have to buy anything for this project, so I went with what I had.  I used to scrapbook so I found all my pink, red and purple papers which I used for the heart shape (the templates for which I found online).  I did not have any buttons so I accented each large heart with a coordinating smaller heart inside.

I folded over the top of each piece of paper to staple on to wrapping paper ribbon.  It strung perfectly on the mirror of my dresser!

I absolutely LOVE looking at this every day.

As far as Valentine’s plans…we’re very laid back…not surprising, but it’s all food related!…pizza, fries, popcorn and ice cream!  Can’t wait!
