My first night on to work was busy, busy, busy. But at least it was in ICU.
No time for anything but work. I think that always happens when I plan on accomplishing anything else at work (last night I thought I’d be able to work on my grocery list at work!)
On a more positive note, it’s a NEW month 🙂
Just love those new months…time for a fresh start.
Today I’m going to try to recap what I’ve done this past week to save money…I saw it on another blog and I thought it was cool to be able to look back and see that the “little things” really do add up and create savings.
So this is what I did this past week:
…showered with the lights off (this is a big one for me…I used to have to turn the bathroom light on for everything!…but it is still light out enough to be able to shower before work with the light off…at first it was VERY strange…but now I’m used to it…more calming)
…I mowed the lawn (instead of paying the neighbor kid to do it…very rewarding as well)
…got a bunch of free produce from Kimm’s parents from their garden (large tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, grape tomatoes, 2 yellow squashes, a zucchini, a few cucumbers)
…packed my lunch for work each night instead of getting something at work (I always do this, but it does save us LOTS of money)
…stopped at the library to pick up FREE books to read (I LOVE to read and really need to utilize the library more)
…we did NOT go to Target this past week (which means no Target for the whole month!) (this REALLY saved us…Target always pulls us in and we end up spending more than we planned)
…ate up leftovers whenever we could…no leftovers went to waste
And that’s about all I can think of…but I keep thinking, every thing I do to save money WILL make a difference.
Savings goals this week:
1) don’t let any of the fresh produce go to waste
2) eat from the pantry
3) find a few frugal blogs to follow to get frugal tips
4) turn on AC in bedroom at 9 pm instead of earlier
5) figure out some way to use the water that I keep emptying from the dehumidifier
How did you save money this week?
Let’s hope tonight at work is better!!!
