The other hand

Today Kimm had her scheduled surgery at the hospital to repair the carpal tunnel damage to her right hand.

This time went MUCH smoother than last time 🙂

We were up at the awful hour of 5 am, left the house by 5:45 am and arrived at the hospital by 6:15 am.

Kimm went in to surgery at 7:30 am.  It all seemed so smooth this time and knowing that they were just going to put her under immediately made me feel a lot less nervous.

Before I knew it, she was out at 8:30 am!  The doctor said there was NO issue with paradoxical reactions to meds this time!

However, she did have a little bit of time coming out of the anesthesia.  They wanted to send her home by 11 am but when she tried to get up to go to the bathroom, she was incredibly light-headed and unsteady on her feet.  So they (wisely) decided to let her sleep it off.

I went home to get some lunch and feed the animals and snooze!  I called at 1 pm…nope…she was still out of it.

They called me at 2 pm–according to them, she was a “new person”–able to walk without difficulty.

By the time I got to the hospital it was after 2:30 pm and then we were on our way home.

For simplicity, I ordered out cheese ravioli/salad/rolls for us to share…it was an awesome idea.  So good.

After eating we were both so tired we fell asleep on the couch and it was lovely!

Now Kimm is in recuperation mode and I still have a few days off!
