I try to find inspiration from where ever I can.

Today I found it in a co-worker.  We were talking about the doctors and how they can sometimes be moody and demeaning.  Then she was telling me some of the things she would say to them to “turn them around”–things like…”stay in your office until you can play nice” and “you can look at me not knowing as frustrating or as an opportunity to teach me what you want to know.”

Now this was a pretty brief conversation, but it has really stuck with me.

I KNOW that I am the kind of person who doesn’t like confrontation and generally just sucks it up when a doc is in a bad mood.

But you know what, I DON’T DESERVE to be treated like that.

I deserve to be treated with respect and I need to say something if I feel I am being treated unfairly.

This will be hard for me to do.

But I am going to make an honest effort to do so.

I think I would be MUCH happier at work if I did.

We watched a great movie tonight–The Lincoln Lawyer.  I would highly recommend it.  Of course now I want to read the book!
