A New Start

Don’t you ever just feel like you are constantly trying to live a better, healthier life?

It’s pretty hard considering all of the stuff out there that’s working against you–grocery stores with primarily highly-processed food, diet propaganda in all media, holidays that focus around food, people who try to make you feel bad for trying to eat healthy.

Well, ever since before Christmas I feel like I threw out the healthy eating really.  It’s so tough when the holidays come around…and then my birthday, Kimm’s birthday, her parents and brothers birthday.  Not to mention after Christmas you still have a lot of winter to suffer through and it can get depressing.

But we’ve finally started again.  After going shopping last night, the house is full again of good, real, whole food.

For breakfast I had green tea with honey, oatmeal with coconut, raisins, peanut butter and fruit spread.  Lunch was a whole wheat wrap with hummus, spinach, and carrots.  With cottage cheese and grapes on the side.  Dinner will be a veggie burger with a salad (with homemade dressing).  Probably an orange for dessert.  Snacks for work tonight will be oatmeal bread with peanut butter, berries, walnuts, oatmeal, and an apple.  With some green tea.  I’m trying to eat every couple of hours to keep the blood sugar level up.  And no coffee at night.  Just the green tea.

I feel better already.  I always feel better when I make a new start.
