Dysrhythmia class…day three…and PASSED!

Thursday, March 25, 2010

I made it through the dysrhythmia class!

Today we finished everything–talked about ventricular rhythms–the LETHAL rhythms such as v-tach and v-fib.  At the start of the morning I didn’t think that I would be able to pass the post-test, but by the time the afternoon came, I felt more confident.

Believe me, just passing this test doesn’t mean I’m done learning.  It just means I passed the minimal standards for this hospital in order to work on a monitored floor.  The real work will come with interpreting rhythms on a day-by-day basis and understanding the physiology behind the production of that rhythm and the appropriate intervention, if anything, for each rhythm.  Over time this will definitely make me a better nurse.  I’m excited about that!

Only one more day until I go back to nights!  And tomorrow is an early one again.  I must go to bed soon since I have to get up at 5 am.

I can’t wait for Saturday and Sunday to SLEEP IN 🙂
