WI: Day Three

Sunday, January 17, 2010

Today was my last day with my nephew Eric 😦

It was wonderful to spend so much time with him, but boy he is a bundle of energy.  I don’t know how all my friends with kids do it.  I give them a lot of credit.

So his last day was a busy day!

First we went to church in the morning to listen to Grandma and Grandpa play their handbells.  Of course that meant he also had to sit through a long-ish sermon.   But he did pretty good…not too much wiggling.  And he actually remembered a few stories that the pastor told (I was suprised!).

After church we went out to eat at the Chinese/American buffet.  I ate ENTIRELY too much there.  I had to come home and rest my stomach for a bit.

We had decided to go ice skating and that started at 4 pm.  However, when we got there, we found out there was no skating due to a kid’s hockey game that was going on at the arena.  We stayed and watched for a few minutes–the kids were ages 10 and under and they were whizzing around on the ice likes pros.  I REALLY enjoyed watching them.  I took a few pictures and sent them to Kimm too because I knew that she would appreciate it 🙂

So our impromptu plan was to go bowling.  That was a lot of fun too!  My only goal was to get over 100 points.  Which I did do (JUST barely)…I got 102 (which also happened to be the highest score).

Our last stop was Taco Bell for a quick dinner before having to take Eric back.

And that was it.  We exchanged a big hug that will have to last for a while since I’m not sure when I’ll see him again 😦

After that we watched another movie–Superman Returns.   This was another one of my brother’s that was lying around the house.  I actually enjoyed it.

Now I’m off to bed.  No real definite plans for tomorrow.  Just hanging out and relaxing and visiting with my parents.  Which is fine by me…this is the reason I came home 🙂
