WI: Day Two

Saturday, January 16, 2010

Today was the day of visiting!  We traveled up to Green Bay to see my Grandma Mabel.  I can’t believe I haven’t seen her in about two years.  She’s doing pretty good for being in her late 80s…her mind is still sharp, it’s just her body that is more fragile.  That’s the sad part of life.  We all get old.  I wonder how I’ll feel if I ever get to be that old.  Anyways, we met up with her, my aunt and uncle, and my godmother and her husband for lunch at Perkins.  For food I got the “build your own omelet” which I had with broccoli, onions, tomatoes, green peppers, and cheese.  With a side of hash browns and pancakes.  I had about a third of this meal and then ate a couple of wedges of Eric’s cheese quesadilla.

We sat in the restaurant for a while, catching up.  It was like a whirlwind of questions and answers!  It’s strange…I know I haven’t seen many of these people for a long time, but it also seems like I just saw them.  Not much has changed in my life…except for the buying of the house and getting Izzy.

We left about 4 pm.  We all slept on the way home.  That was extra nice 🙂  (oh yeah, by the way, I did stop and get coffees for me, dad, and Kurt and a hot chocolate for Eric on the way up to Green Bay!)

When we got home Eric opened his gifts from me…two t shirts and three games.  We did play one of the games tonight but then Eric wasn’t feeling too well…turns out he had a slight fever so he went off to bed.  We watched “Remember the Titans” and snacked on some food.  LOVE that movie.  Makes me cry every time.

Tomorrow Mom and Dad are playing handbells at church so I’m going to hit the sack so I can get up early to listen to them.
