Holiday Party!

*postdated for Friday, December 18, 2009

WOW.  I totally didn’t have time to blog yesterday!

I was busy from the time I got up (8:30 am) til the time I went to bed (3 am!!).

The majority of the day was getting ready for our FIRST holiday party at the new house.

Prep work involved: hanging the clock in the office, hanging the picture over the hole in the wall in the living room, hanging the curtain rod/curtains in the kitchen, cleaning and picking up, prepping our food items.

So what did I make/have for food?  Yummy stuff.

The biggest hit was something I just made up…cresent rolls, and I stuffed them with a squirt of yellow mustard and a slice of cheese…VERY good.

Then I made a chili/cream cheese dip…basically just a package of cream cheese on the bottom of an 8 x 8 pan, covered with vegetarian chili, and then some cheese, baked in the oven for about 20 minutes at 350…ooey, gooey deliciousness!

Also had fresh pineapple (so refreshing), pita chips and hummus, taco dip, and holiday M & M bars (also a huge hit).

Basically, it was go, go, go until 7 pm when people started arriving for the party.

We had SUCH a good time.  A lot of the people were old friends from Relay and we hadn’t seen some of them for over a year.  It was the first time for many people seeing out new house.   And everyone LOVED the house.  They thought it was just perfect for us and that the rooms we had painted looked beautiful.  It was just nice to hear 🙂

I drank quite a bit, got a little tipsy and talked with everyone.  It was so crowded.  Izzy, unfortunately had to be locked in her room for a good portion of the night…she was just so hyper with everyone AND she kept wanting to eat all the food.  In fact she grazed off the top of Nancy’s lasagna!  I was angry with her of course, but I so wanted to laugh!

Now today is the Nutcracker and then tomorrow, finally (!) is our day to relax.  Kimm and I are both looking forward to it TREMENDOUSLY.  But of course what is on the forecast??  SNOW.  Possibly over 6 inches.  I’m trying to keep a positive outlook and hoping not!

(Can you believe I didn’t even take ONE picture last night…bad blogger that I am!)
