Merry Christmas to Us!

Kimm and I bought a gift for us today.  One that we’ve been wanting for a LONG time, but were unable to have in the apartment because of getting it up four flights of stairs with no elevator, and then not before now because of the cost.  But we FINALLY did it.

We bought…

a treadmill!!!!!

We headed out to the Sears Outlet today because we had seen that they had treadmills 50% off when we were looking at the Black Friday sales papers last week.  Turns out the sale was going to December 9th (see you don’t always have to get up at an ungodly hour of the morning to get some deals!).   We headed there today to see if there was anything we liked.  I did a tad bit of research before we left.  The funny thing is, we happened to buy the exact one that I had seen online.

The make and model is the Nordic A2350.  Normally priced at $1299.  And we got it for $499 (plus $65 to have it delivered and set up–WELL worth it since we are going to have it put in the basement).

I am SO EXCITED that I will finally have a piece of nice exercise equipment to utilize during the cold/hot months when I don’t feel like getting outside.  It has nice features…10 different inclines, speed up to 12, place to hold water bottle, folds up, place to plug in ipod, and lots of fancy things that tell you how fast you are going, how many calories you are burning, and a plug in that you can buy that has different workouts listed.  I’m psyched to try it out.  It will be delivered on December 10th.  It’s going to be hard to wait that long!

Have you ever done a “Merry Christmas to me” gift??

And it all begins again…

Another month, another chance to stay completely on budget.

I have to say we did fairly well last month.  We were within our food budget ($3 under in fact…spending only $297).  However we were way over in pets…I guess we spoil our babies too much.

Today the major task was going grocery shopping.  Success!  We spent about $91 and the food we bought will cover meals for over two weeks.  I cut our grocery budget by $50 dollars this month, so we’ll see how that goes.

What else did we do today?  Izzy’s walks (it was cold–35 degrees!), Target–we found an awesome oval mirror that we will be using for the downstairs bath when it is fixed (only $35!), Bed Bath and Beyond (went in looking for spice jars and came out with a bunch of steals on artwork–three pieces on clearance–total = $20!), and then FARMVILLE.  Have you heard of it?   It’s a game on Facebook and it’s so addicting.  I just expanded my farm so I’m spending time rearranging everything.  Takes quite a while.  But it’s relaxing.  Kimm was watching the hockey game and I was doing that 🙂

Now we are going to have some popcorn and watch some TV.  Perfect ending to the day.
