One Night…

What to do with one night off of work?

I’m sure there are lots of ways I could have spent it, but I liked how I did it…

…veggie pizza and fries from a local pizza shop

…a warm shower

…snuggling on the couch with Izzy (she’s quite the heater!)

…possibly having a little nap while Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives was on TV

…a glass of wine

…catching up on blogs 🙂

…quiet time with my sweetie

…early to bed (hopefully!)

Tomorrow the plan is to walk Izzy, enjoy my morning coffee (!), make Baked Mac and Cheese, do a load of laundry, take another walk with Izzy, and…THAT’S it.  There’s no time for anything else since I have to work again!

So, there is a RN opening in our emergency department.  I’ve floated down there once, but didn’t 100% care for it, but didn’t 100% hate it either.  I’m thinking about whether or not to apply.  Pros: more acute experience, you’re not stuck with the same patients all night long, you actually get out on time (major plus), the doctors are right there to ask for what you need, it would look great on my resume.  Cons: it can be pretty chaotic, it can seem never-ending (sure, you get rid of your patients, but then they are replaced with more patients!), stupid people come to the ER when they should have gone to their PCP or just slept off a drunken state, I would be stepping outside of my comfort zone for a while until I felt like I knew the environment.  All I know is that I’ve been feeling restless lately…want to do something different but not sure what.  I was hoping for an opening in IMC or ICU, but nothing has come up.  So maybe this is a sign?

Anyone have an opinion??
