Good Eats/Bad News

We had two VERY good things to eat today.

First, we met up with friends from the hospital at Mt. Tom’s Ice Cream shop.  I had Strawberry Cheesecake and Kimm had Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup.   In waffle cones.  REALLY good.

Then, for dinner, we decided to get some Chinese!  Haven’t had that in a long time.  I ordered a new dish tonight with our old standby–Cold Noodles with Peanut Sauce.  I loved it, but Kimm didn’t.  I was a little surprised, because she loves peanut butter.  But as she said, “I just can’t get used to peanut butter on noodles.”  🙂  We also had veggie spring rolls, veggie fried rice, veggie lo mein, and sesame tofu.  I splurged and had a soda with dinner.  The whole time I was eating I kept saying, “MMMM….this is so good.”

One piece of news that I got today is kind of bumming me out.  I got a call from the hospital from the head nursing supervisor.  Turns out that with all the  12 hour nurses that have quit recently, they are short a nurse on the opposite weekend.  And because I have the least seniority of the nurses that work 12 hour shifts on my weekend, I have to switch over to the other weekend.  She told me that it should be temporary, but I’m still not happy about it.  So that means that I’ll be working this weekend (thankfully only Saturday and Sunday) and then I’ll have to work starting the following Sunday 😦  HOPEFULLY it will only be for one month.  I will miss my co-workers on my weekend!  The only good thing is that I was potentially looking at working a four day weekend on Labor Day weekend with my old schedule (working the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of Labor Day weekend, and then also Labor Day Monday–this would have been HORRIBLE.)   With switching my weekends, I’ll still have to work Labor Day, but it won’t be my weekend on, so I won’t have to work four days in a row…whew!  But there is always a chance for them to screw you, so I won’t be satisfied until I actually see the next schedule.  So now I just have to be patient.  Very hard for me!

It’s another beautiful night.  Peaceful and quiet which I enjoy tremendously.
